Osama Bin Laden: Shark bait.

Osama Bin Laden is dead. That sentence has been ringing through my mind all day. The man who killed thousands of inocent american civilians on september 11, 2001. The man who has inflicted fear, sadness, and anger, into so many americans for over 10 years. Thank God he is dead. Today is a great day for americans. All americans should be joyful and happy about this news. When I first heard about this one of the first things i thought was i wish i could have been the one to end his terror spree. I hope that his death will discourage terrorists in the future. But I think it will anger the current terrorists. But there is a small chance that it will show them that america doesnt f around. If some one messes us we go and we get even. I hope that all americans can unite and agree that more things get done when we all work together. I hope that people will also stop saying that 9/11 was a conspiracy and accept that osama was a real terrorist and killed these people. It is a good thing that this man is dead. I hope the fish in the ocean enjoy the free meal. That is about all the good the man has ever done the world.

Restrepo Blog Assignment

1.) One way the film was like the book was when they talk about losing doc restrepo is killed barely a month after being there. In the book Jenkins dies in the beggining, This makes it real because lots of people die in war which pulls out a feeling of fear inside you.

2.) Also in the movie the soldiers seem to really like to get into fire fights. In the book Peewee always says how he is going to kill every Cong he sees.

3.) In the book Perry was very young and in the movie alot of soldiers were still very young too.

4.) In the book they go on opperation rock avalanche and alot of soldiers die and they fear they wont make it through. In the book when Perrys squad is ordered to take the hill the cong are too powerful and the squad gets split up and there are tons of casualties.

5.) In the movie Seth is killed on the mountain and he is a very good soldier. In the book Carrol dies and he is considered a very good soldier.

6.) In the movie the soldiers have a dance party to stay sane. In the book the soldiers played volleyball.

7.) Perry writes a letter haome to his brother in the book. In the movie a guy writes a letter home and a picture of the valley.

8.) In the book the best moment for Perry and Peewee is leaving. In the movie the best part of all their time is also leaving.

9.) In the movie they sit around and talk about where one guy should go to college. In the book they also talk about where one guy should go.

10.) In the book most of it was about free time but parts of it were about fighting. In the movie most of the time they were hanging out at the base but they had to go out to find fights

Fallen angels and Restrepo taught me alot about war. The main thing it taught me was that war is a pretty crappy place. One way it taught me this was in war you must always be alert. In Fallen Angels A soldier named Jenkins failedto be alert during a patrol and as a result stepped on a mine and was killed. Another way it taught me this was when the squad in Restrepo was on Operation Rock Avalanche and one of the best soldiers was killed. knowing that there was a constant possibility of death and then seeing someone who is better than you get killed is not a very comfortable feeling. One final way that reading Fallen Angels and watching Restrepo showed me that war is a crappy place was when in both books all of the soldiers agreed that the best part of war was leaving it. I beleive after reading Fallen Angels and watching Restrepo that war is a very crappy place.

Siddhartha Blog

During the book Siddhartha choses to leave his friend and go on his own path, this shows that everybody beleives in different things and they must be allowed to work towards those beliefs. "You have heard my blessing, Govinda. I repeat it. May you travel this path to the end. May you find salvation!". Siddhartha knows that Govinda has found his path and allows him to travel it just like everybody needs to be allowed to do. Another way this is showed in the story is when Siddhartha is talking with the Buddah. When Siddhartha is talking to the Buddha he realizes that people need to beleive what they want to beleive. "Do you think, O Samana from afar, that it would be better for all these to relinquish the teachings and to return to the life of the world and desires?"..."May they reach their goal!" Siddhartha understands that the men have found what they beleive and they can be content with their beliefs by saying they should reach their goals he is saying he understands that they have their own beliefs.
